My Digital Footprints was created to help teach students about the importance of their actions online. More and more, we hear about repercussions of the irresponsible or inappropriate use of social media and other online activities costing people their careers, their relationships, and worse.
Our goal is for every student to become more aware of their digital footprint and to provide them with the tools and resources that allow them to take steps toward creating a clean footprint.
Teaching about digital footprints must also include educating our students on every facite of their online presence. This includes teaching them about cyberbullying, password security, social media security and several other factors. It also includes providing parents and adults with opportunities to learn, as well. Educating our adults will help provide students with another voice to reinforce these ideas at home and on their own.
